BDK Parfums wanted to enrich its expertise by applying it to the world of household laundry. After a first limited edition for Le Bon Marché, the permanent Eau de Lessive detergent was launched in June 2018. BDK Parfums and the perfumer Anne-Sophie Behaghel from the Flair perfume design studio worked together to develop a contemporary, clean scent that revisits conventional detergent, redefining the art of caring for clothes. The olfactory formula of the Eau de Lessive was imagined like that of an eau de parfum. For this project, we made a commitment to developing an ecological and biological detergent, made by independent artisans based in Provence whose savoir-faire ensures that the Eau de Lessive is natural and organic.
"The fragrance of the BDK Parfums Eau de Lessive has been developed in a sophisticated way, like a perfume. The choice of ingredients comes from the historic Eau de Cologne formula: bergamot, lemon and bitter orange accompanied by a bouquet of aromatics (thyme, rosemary, lavender and peppermint), followed up by a floral orange blossom heart. The light woody base contains a few white woods for hold. Its originality stems from the fact that I gave it a dusting of fresh spices, pink peppercorn, ginger and cardamom, which is very unconventional for a detergent’’.
